Application Worksheets
These worksheets are created in Google Sheets and are intended to serve as a working document that can help you to organize your application before making entries in EASy, if desired. They are not a requirement, but are helpful ways to seek feedback from the Endorsement Coordinator.

To make a working copy to organize your application progress, make a copy and store on your personal Google Drive, or download to your computer as an Excel file.

Getting Started
Click on the link above to view or download the example of a "working transcript".
This example provides an overview of how to:
1. Highlight selected courses in your transcript, and
2. Organize those courses in your Application Worksheet before working in your Education Tab in EASy.
Note: courses are spread out to meet as many competencies as possible. Avoid duplication during this step, if possible.
Please note: This transcript is for illustration purposes only. It is not associated with a VAIMH applicant or Endorsed professional, and was downloaded from https://melissaosmun.weebly.com/certification.html.

Not every category of Endorsement has an RS/C requirement. However, the Early Childhood Mental Health Virginia (ECMHVA) Initiative receives annual funding to support IECMH Applicants.
Each November, new Family Specialist, Mental Health Specialist, and Mental Health Mentor-Clinical applicants are notified of scholarship support opportunities for 24 hours of group reflective supervision/consultation with an Endorsed Reflective Supervision Provider.

Unused funds are then offered to Family Associate, Mental Health Mentor-Policy, and Mental Health Mentor-Research/Faculty to support their participation in group RS/C should they wish to do so, even though their categories of Endorsement do not have this as a requirement.
RS/C Providers offer a variety of schedules in order to support applicant's as much as possible. Applicants seeking scholarship support will select their preferred provider/schedule consisting of 2 virtual hours per month for 12 months (i.e., 24 hours between January - December).

MHS & MHM-C applicants are required to receive 50 hours of RSC to earn Endorsement.
Scholarship funds will support your first 24 hours.

Once Endorsed, FS, MHS, and MHM-C endorsees are required to receive ongoing RSC for Renewal.
What to Expect in Group RS/C
You will meet virtually with your reflective supervision group.
You and a small group of new applicants will explore case presentations made by you and others in the group on a rotating basis.

Using this safe space, you will share things you have experienced in the field and will have an opportunity to hear and discuss wonderings from your colleagues and Reflective Supervision Provider. The Reflective Interaction Observation Scale (RIOS) will be used to provide the framework for receiving RS/C.
Reflective Supervision is distinctly different than any other type of supervision because attention is paid to all of the relationships for the children you serve, including the ones between you and each child's parent(s)/guardian(s)/caregiver(s), and between each parent/guardian/caregiver and their infant/toddler, or young child. It is critical to understand how each of these relationships affects the others and impacts the infant/toddler and young child.
Preparing for Case Presentations
This guideline will help you to organize your thoughts and think more deeply about a child and family/caregiver before bringing it to the group for discussion. It provides an opportunity to slow down, think deeply about the case, and consider what questions you would like the group to help you think about with greater curiosity and from multiple perspectives.

Why?
Think about why you chose this case to present. Why do you think there are challenges with working with this family?

What?
What do you know about this family? What is the relevant demographic and cultural information about the family? What are the parent(s)' perspectives on problems and parenting? What is the baby's living environment, development, and experience with parents and/or caregivers? (Has there been abuse or trauma experienced by the family, and are there any relationship issues and/or mental health concerns?) What are the family's strengths and support systems? What are your observations of the infant/toddler/young child and the child-parent relationship?

How?
How long have you been working with this family? How is your relationship with the parents? How has it evolved from when you started working together to where you are now? How do their cultural beliefs and practices differ from your own? How do you manage any feelings that arise when working with this family? How do you see conflicts being resolved?
