About the event

Program Description: Heather Craige will present key concepts from attachment theory and illustrate how these ideas can be simply and powerfully conveyed to parents using the Circle of Security parenting video and graphics. This talk is for therapists who want a basic understanding of attachment theory and others who care for families with young children in agencies, faith communities, clinics, classrooms, or private practice.

About the Presenter: Heather Craige, clinical social worker and psychoanalyst, is an engaging teacher passionate about strengthening families and talented in translating attachment theory into plain language. A member of the PCC faculty, Heather teaches courses on relational psychoanalysis, attachment theory, and trauma. She led the team that brought Circle of Security Parenting facilitator training to North Carolina from 2016 to 2021.

Circle of Security® Parenting facilitator training is an evidence-based, four-day program for mental health professionals, teachers, pediatricians, and others who work in the community supporting parents with young children. This training, sponsored by the PCC, will be coming to Cary, North Carolina on March 12-15, 2024.
